Cheong Ho-Jeong, president of the Language and Intercultural Studies Institute, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Korean Association for Public Interpretation and Translation, organized a focus group discussion under the theme of “Outbound Korean Literature Translation: Who, Why, and How” on September 2021. Despite the importance of spreading Korean literature to the world, the outbound translation of Korean literature has focused on discussing the direction of the current literary translation market in line with the existing problems that do not reflect the voices of writers and translators. Joseph Lee, CEO of KL Management; Kelly Falconer of the Asia Literary Agency; Yoon Bu-han of the Literature Translation Institute of Korea; Lee Hyung Jin, professor of Sookmyung Women's University; and Jake Levine, professor of Keimyung University, shared their experience and insights of various subjects in Korean literature outbound translation. In addition, the results of this discussion were published as a paper in the first issue of the international journal INContext; Studies in Translation and Interculturalism
